Call for Papers
The Binational Association of Communication Schools (BINACOM) is inviting professors, researchers, graduate students, and professionals to present their research, intervention, and media production projects, whether in progress or completed.
This event aims to provide a platform for peer-to-peer dialogue. At least one of the authors must attend the Colloquium to present and discuss their work.
Projects can be submitted in two categories:
A. Research (media, organizational, political, or cultural, among others): Research projects linked to communication sciences may be final reports, ongoing research progress, or research protocols. Register at https://forms.gle/utmAVeXMGXNCexvWA and include a summary of 200 to 350 words.
B. Creative products: Completed or ongoing communication productions, or pre-productions of various communication projects such as audiovisual, audio, photography, web design, graphic design, or journalism. The works must be exclusively digital and registered at https://forms.gle/utmAVeXMGXNCexvWA, including a summary of 250-350 words explaining the project. For submissions in these categories:
– Photograph: Submit in .jpg or .png format, 150-300 dpi, and 1 Mb maximum.
– Audiovisual or multimedia productions: Submit in .mp4, .mov, or H.264 format, preferably not exceeding 10 minutes.
– Audio: Submit in .mp3, .aif, or .wav format, preferably no longer than 10 minutes.
– Journalism: Submit written works in .pdf or .jpg format, or provide a URL link.
– Web design: Provide the project URL.
Acceptance:
Deadline for submissions: October 25th
The selection committee will notify about the acceptance of projects by Friday, October 31, 2024.
Participation:
No online participation is allowed this time.
Authors can design presentation supports and should consider the conditions set by the committee to ensure equal opportunity for presentation and plenary feedback for each proposal.

Convocatoria de trabajos
La Asociación Binacional de Escuelas de Comunicación invita a profesores, investigadores, estudiantes de postgrado y profesionistas a presentar sus proyectos en investigación, intervención y producción de medios, tanto en proceso como ya realizados, en un espacio de diálogo entre pares. Es importante que al menos uno de los autores asista al Coloquio para exponer y dialogar sobre su trabajo.
Las temáticas son libres y pueden someter a participación proyectos en dos categorías distintas:
A. Investigación (medios, organizacional, política, cultural, entre otras). Proyectos de investigación vinculado con el campo de las ciencias de la comunicación, se puede tratar de reportes finales, avances de investigaciones en proceso o protocolos de investigación.
Enviar al coordinador del coloquio, Dr. Daniel Hallin (dhallin@ucsd.edu) la siguiente información antes de la medianoche del 20 de octubre de 2021.
(1) Un archivo (.doc, .docs, .docx) con datos generales del proyecto en la que se incluya: título, nombre de los participantes, institución de procedencia (sólo si aplica), dirección, teléfono y correo electrónico de cada autor, un resumen de 250 a 300 palabras y cinco palabras clave.
B. Productos creativos. Producciones de comunicación concluídas o en proceso, o pre producciones de proyectos comunicativos de diversa naturaleza: audiovisual, audio, fotografía, diseño web, diseño gráfico o periodismo.
Los trabajos que se recibirán deben ser exclusivamente digitales, y enviarse al coordinador de contenido de productos creativos, Dr. Armando Gutiérrez Ortega (armando.gutierrrez@uabc.edu.mx), antes de la medianoche del 20 de octubre de 2021, de acuerdo a las siguientes condiciones:
Un archivo (.doc, .docs, .docx) entre 250-300 palabras con una explicación del proyecto, la propuesta de presentación del proyecto— por ejemplo: «discusión del proyecto con dos extractos de video de una duración en específico», el archivo o enlace del producto en cualquiera de estas categorías:
Producciones fotográficas. En archivos .jpg o .png, de 150-300 dpi y 1 Mb máxima de información.
Producciones audiovisuales o multimedia. Ficción o documental en formato .mp4, .mov o H.264, preferentemente no deben exceder los 10 minutos de duración (proyectos más extensos sólo podrán exhibirse de forma parcial).
Audio. Formato .mp3, .aif o .wav, de preferencia con una duración no mayor a los 10 minutos (proyectos más extensos sólo podrán exhibirse de forma parcial).
Periodismo. Trabajos escritos en .pdf o .jpg o enlace de URL.
Diseño web. URL del proyecto.
Condiciones de envío. Los proyectos y fichas técnicas deberán compartirse mediante Google Drive, en una carpeta con el nombre del proyecto en el que se incluya el archivo del proyecto (excepto los diseños web) y un archivo con el nombre del proyecto que contenga la siguiente información:
Nombre del proyecto
Nombre de los productores.
Institución de procedencia, sólo en los casos en donde esto aplique.
Duración exacta (sólo en los productos en los que aplique).
Sinopsis o resumen.
URL funcional (sólo en diseño web).
Ciudad, mes y año de producción.
Aceptación de proyectos. El comité de selección notificará sobre la aceptación de los proyectos a más tardar el 30 de octubre de 2021.
Forma de participación. Mediante el enlace de Zoom asignado por el comité organizador. Los autores pueden diseñar apoyos de exposición que consideren adecuados considerando las condiciones que el comité establezca para dar la oportunidad equitativa de exposición y retroalimentación plenaria a cada propuesta.
Costo de inscripción: el evento es por invitación y no tiene costo.
NOTA: Los casos no previstos en la presente convocatoria serán resueltos por el comité organizador.

Call for Work

(1) A file (.doc, .docs, .docx) between 250-300 words with an explanation of the project, the proposal for presenting the project –for example, “discussion of project with two video clips of such and such duration”– and the file or link to the product in any of these categories:

(3) Institution where it was produced, if applicable.
(4) Exact duration (if applicable).
(5) Synopsis or abstract.
(6) Functional URL (for web design).
(7) City, month and year of production.
Acceptance of projects. The selection committee will provide notification of the acceptance of the projects by October 30, 2021.
Form of participation. Through a Zoom link established by the organizing committee.The authors will want to plan a method of presentation that seems to them appropriate taking into account the conditions that the committee establishes to give an equitable opportunity for presentation and feedback to each proposal.
Registration cost: the event is by invitation and there is no registration charge.
